New research is always exciting - especially when it’s super topical, relevant and covers many markets.
Last year we conducted research with IDC and this year we’ve done it again. The report: Future People - Unleash Your Talent, is based on views from more than 1,400 HR professionals and line managers, working in businesses with more than 500 employees across 14 European markets, including the UK.
Last year’s report, which you can still download here, focused on flexible and mobile working and how this affected happiness in the workplace. The report revealed that the UK was lagging behind the European average for flexible working, ranking within the bottom four, and suffering from low rates of employee happiness as a result. A lack of technology to enable remote working and cultural resistance were discovered to be the biggest barriers for adopting flexible working practices.
Further discoveries included the revelation that almost a third (29%) of HR and line managers are not ‘proud’ of their workplace and 37% of UK managers do not think their company is an attractive employer.
This year we have turned our attention to digital transformation and how this is impacting HR. We’ve uncovered key insights into current trends, how HR and line managers view this massive change, and where the UK sits in relation to other markets when it comes to HR transformation.
The 2017 report shows that most organisations are undergoing or about to undergo digital transformation and in the UK most businesses believe HR has an important role to play. Yet, we have discovered that there are still major barriers businesses need to overcome– the biggest obstacle may come as quite a surprise.
We will share these new findings, and reveal a whole lot more, at the London HR Make It event on 27th June 2017. We would love to see you there!
